| The
Wolverton Story |
|
| The
Wolverton and Greenleys Town Council and its partners wanted to record
the process of what was happening in the town and to evaluate this over
a period of six months. There was a real desire to find an innovative
way of doing this and consequently A Word in Edgeways was engaged to use
storytelling techniques to collect peoples reactions and evaluate
the process of setting up of Wolverton Unlimited. |
 |
| We
worked with members of the Wolverton Unlimited steering group and partner
organisations to extract stories, metaphors and key learnings from the
experience so far. |
This
project was funded by |
The
Countryside Agency |
|
| The
main story, about how Wolverton Unlimited came about, was told at various
venues around the town, and published in book as 'Tales of a Town Rediscovered
: A Story Of Wolverton' |
 |
The
storytelling process has allowed people to express themselves freely,
created a shared language and proved to be a therapeutic experience for
the people who have spent an enormous amount of their free time working
for their community.
As part of the evaluation process the storytelling approach has provided
key lessons from the community perspective which complements both the
consultants report as well as the Beacon Town book. |
